See the Pyramids along the Nile

I dug up my old Ally McBeal CD for this song I heard at the wedding. I was craving the visuals and the inspiration I was filled with when I sat down and watched the couples slow-danced.

And fortunately, I was not failed.

See the pyramids along the Nile
Watch the sunrise on a tropic isle
Just remember darling all the while
You belong to me

See the market place in old Algiers
Send me photographs and souvenirs
Just remember when a dream appears
You belong to me

I'll be so lonesome without you
Maybe you'll lonesome too and blue

Fly in the ocean in a silver plane
See the jungle when it's wet with rain
Just remember till you're home again
You belong to me

Maybe you'll lonesome too and blue

Fly in the ocean in a silver plane
See the jungle when it's wet with rain
Just remember till you're home again
You belong to me

You Belong To Me - performed by Vonda Shepherd

The song just fills me with visuals of longing, emptiness and hope. Such soothing balm on my frazzled and confused nerves. I think I'll go pick up some black and white film tomorrow, collect my camera and put the song on repeat.

It's amazing the way it fills me with promises of the future: the things I aim to see, the beauty I want to capture, the difference between the way I see things and the way you see it. It reminds me of the wonders in the world that people in this paper-chasing city tend to overlook.
A little side track here, but Algiers is the capital of Algeria. So now you know.
